Is there a certain tactic that we should use when we share our faith with others? Is there a preferred technique, a blueprint or a pattern that we can follow when trying to lead others to Christ? I’m always amazed at how simply the disciples shared their faith. They just told their story, and their story spoke for itself. But not all of us have an amazing story that led us to Christ, none of us have walked with Jesus when he was in the flesh, and many of us are not persuasive in speech. But that’s okay. Because I think it is less about what we say and more about how we say it. It is less about convincing someone and more about our heart. Jude chapter 1 verse 22 and 23 says:
"Be merciful to those who doubt; snatch others from the fire and save them; to others show mercy, mixed with fear - hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh."
So I’m not sure how much it matters as to what you say when you share your faith, as long as it is done with mercy as opposed to judgment. I like where it says to "show mercy, mixed with fear" because the bible teaches us that believers and unbelievers alike, should reverently fear God because he is the one who can not only destroy the body, but also has authority over our soul as well. And when it says, “hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh”, I think that means that we are to remain uncompromising. So however you share your faith, I encourage you to share it in truth, with mercy, and without compromising.

How can we “snatch others from the fire and save them” as it says in Jude? What method should we use? Jude tells us that we are to be merciful to those who doubt; that we are to show mercy mixed with fear. And that we are to be uncompromising with the truth. So, as highlighted in Jude, I believe it is more about how you go about sharing your faith above what words you choose to use. I like the saying that goes, “people don't care how much you know unless they know how much you care”. I encourage you to share your faith. Not just because we are commanded to, but because you care; because you choose to show genuine love and mercy, mixed with a bit of reverent fear. Then pray that the Holy Spirit will ultimately lead them to himself.
